Manufacturing ERP — UAE and GCC

Odoo for manufacturing companies in the UAE and GCC.

Light and mid-complexity manufacturers across the GCC — food and beverage, furniture, packaging, garments, electronics assembly, building materials — need an ERP that handles bills of materials, work orders, quality control, and finished goods inventory without the cost and complexity of a tier-1 manufacturing system. Odoo Manufacturing is that system, and we configure it to your production environment — not a generic factory template.

Shamnas Koyani, our lead consultant, is a certified Odoo consultant with 300+ enterprise software implementations delivered globally, including manufacturing businesses across the UAE and wider GCC.

Odoo Manufacturing capabilities

What Odoo Manufacturing covers for GCC manufacturers.

Odoo Manufacturing is designed for light to mid-complexity production environments. It connects procurement, production, quality, inventory, and accounting into a single system — so your production cost is calculated, not estimated, and your stock is accurate after every manufacturing order, not just after the monthly count.

Bills of materials and routing

Define your product structures as single-level or multi-level BOMs. Components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods are all linked. Work centre routing defines the sequence of operations, the time required at each station, and which machine or team performs each step.

Manufacturing orders and work orders

Manufacturing orders (MOs) are created from sales demand or a production schedule. Each MO generates the work orders for each routing step, triggers raw material reservation, and tracks the production progress in real time. Shop floor operators confirm completion on a tablet or mobile.

In-process quality control

Quality control points are triggered at defined stages: on raw material receipt, at specific work centre operations, and at final inspection. Failing a QC check raises a quality alert and can block the production order from proceeding — so defects are caught before they become finished goods rejections or customer returns.

Accurate production costing

Every manufacturing order records actual raw material consumption, actual labour time at each work centre, and allocated overhead. The result is an actual cost of goods manufactured per order — not a standard cost applied at month-end. Variance reporting shows where actual costs differ from the standard BOM cost and why.

Raw material replenishment

Odoo's reorder rules trigger purchase orders automatically when raw material stock drops below defined minimum levels. Routes can be configured to use make-to-order (MTO) or make-to-stock (MTS) logic — or a combination for different product categories. No more manual reorder lists.

Maintenance scheduling

Preventive maintenance schedules are linked to work centres. When a machine is due for maintenance, a maintenance request is created automatically. Equipment downtime is tracked against production orders, so you can calculate the real impact of machine stoppages on output.

Pain points we solve

Problems we eliminate for GCC manufacturers.

No real-time view of work-in-progress — production status lives in spreadsheets or supervisor memory

Material wastage and scrap not captured until the monthly stock-take

Production costs are estimated, not calculated — no accurate cost of goods manufactured

Quality issues found at finished goods stage, not caught in-process

Purchase orders raised on gut feel rather than system-driven reorder points

Separate accounting system means product costs are always reconciled manually

Capacity planning done in spreadsheets with no link to actual production orders

Common questions

Odoo for manufacturing — frequently asked questions.

Is Odoo suitable for manufacturing companies in the UAE and GCC?

Yes — Odoo Manufacturing is designed for light to mid-complexity manufacturers. It covers bills of materials, manufacturing orders, work centre routing, quality control, and scrap tracking. GCC manufacturers in food and beverage, furniture, packaging, garments, electronics assembly, and similar industries use Odoo effectively. For highly complex discrete or process manufacturing (aerospace, chemicals), we give an honest assessment in the Fit Assessment — Odoo is a strong fit for many manufacturers but not all.

Can Odoo handle bills of materials and multi-level production?

Yes. Odoo supports single-level and multi-level BOMs with components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods. Each BOM can have multiple versions for engineering change management. Work centre routing lets you define the sequence of operations and the time required at each stage.

How does Odoo track production costs for manufacturing companies?

Odoo uses standard cost or average cost methods to value inventory and calculate the cost of goods manufactured. Raw material consumption is recorded against the manufacturing order, labour time is captured through work centre time entries, and overhead can be allocated via workcenter costs. This gives you an actual cost of production — not an estimate.

Does Odoo support quality control in manufacturing?

Yes. Odoo Quality allows you to define quality control points at different stages: on receipt of raw materials, during production at specific operations, and at final inspection. Non-conforming items trigger a quality alert and can be quarantined before they reach the next stage or the customer.

How long does an Odoo implementation take for a manufacturing company?

A manufacturing implementation is typically more complex than a pure trading scope because of BOM configuration, work centre setup, and quality control rules. Expect 12 to 20 weeks for a mid-complexity manufacturer. We scope this precisely in the Fit Assessment based on your product range, BOM depth, and quality requirements.

Ready to see a fit?

Let's assess whether Odoo is the right fit for your manufacturing operation.

In the free Fit Assessment, we look at your production environment — product complexity, BOM depth, quality requirements, and throughput volume — and tell you honestly whether Odoo Manufacturing is the right system and what an implementation would involve.
